Derek Pfister and Brendan Adams of Chair on Stair Films travel across the state to showcase creative talent, no matter what their focus is.

 

Creatives interviewed showcase skills in filmmaking, directing, acting, writing, painting, music, and much more. Learn from them as we ask how they began their

creative careers to where they are today.

Throughout the years, he has transitioned from Wisconsin to Los Angeles, expanding his creative journey. His experiences continue to shape his professional development in the industry.

We sat down with Michael Viers, a filmmaker, film historian, and host of The Shame List Picture Show podcast. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee film program, Michael has developed a dynamic career across nearly every aspect of film production-from directing and editing to producing and cinematography.

We sat down with Maureen Janson, a Chicago-born actor whose creative career has spanned both the stage and screen. A former professional dancer and choreographer, Maureen transitioned to film and television later in life, bringing decades of performance experience to her roles. She has appeared in multiple award-winning short films. In addition to her on-screen work, Maureen is a seasoned commercial and voiceover actor.

A former professional baseball player turned award-winning filmmaker, Justin shares his inspiring journey from the baseball diamond to the directors chair. After retiring from a decade-long athletic career, he discovered his passion for filmmaking while creating coaching content for YouTube. Now a graduate of The Los Angeles Film School, Justin has carved out a successful path as a director and cinematographer, producing short films, music videos, and commercial work.

Jolee, a Wisconsin native, has always had a passion for the creative arts, from filmmaking to photography. They recognized early on that pursuing a career in these fields was the right choice. However, Jolee shares that their journey as a creative has taken unexpected turns, diverging from the original vision they had.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with the talented artist, Terry King. Hailing from Chicago, IL, Terry grew up in a family rich in creativity. Alongside his brother, he discovered his passion for acting and music. Recognizing that a conventional desk job wasn't his calling, Terry transformed his love for the arts into a successful acting career, exemplifying the joy of pursuing one's passion.
